OFHB

The Operators’ Association for Hyperbaric Lifeboat Preparedness

The Operators’ Association for Hyperbaric Lifeboat Preparedness (OFHB) is a non-profit organization that ensures readiness to receive and handle hyperbaric lifeboats on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

OFHB coordinates member companies’ efforts in hyperbaric emergency preparedness and diving research.

Members include Equinor, Aker BP, Repsol, Vår Energi, ConocoPhillips, and Gassco, with Subsea 7 and TechnipFMC as board observers. Through collaboration and expertise, OFHB promotes safer, more efficient offshore emergency preparedness.

Starting January 1, 2026, applications for funding of diving-related R&D will be reviewed collectively by OFHB, replacing the need to apply to each operator separately. Applications will be assessed by the OFHB board, while NUI will manage administration but not evaluations. Further details will be published on www.nui.no in December 2025. Inquiries may be directed to Rolf Røssland (rro@nui.no) or OFHB Chair Pål Atle Solheimsnes (paso@equinor.com).
