New Hire

1st August 2024, Hans Bjarne Abotnes started in his position as Assistant Manager Hyperbaric Operations

In collaboration with the Manager of Hyperbaric Operations and technical staff, Hans Bjarne will manage NUI's preparedness for receiving hyperbaric lifeboats (SPHLs) and ensure that Life Support Packages (LSPs) are ready and meet quality standards for Rapid Response Rescue Vessels (RRRVs).

Hans Bjarne started his career in the Armed Forces, serving as an enlisted soldier and later an officer in the Army, with two years of international service. He has over 15 years of experience in the diving industry, including several years at HVL’s Diving Education program, training Rescue Divers for Norway’s fire and rescue services. He is also a chamber operator at Haukeland University Hospital's occupational medicine department.

Hans Bjarne spent two years working as an HSE Partner at Franzefoss, supporting management with risk assessments, emergency planning, investigations, and audits.
