NUI provides highly qualified personnel and services for testing of equipment and tools for use under pressure and harsh conditions. Our laboratory and test facility are equipped for testing and analysis of gas, chemicals and equipment.

Verification of diving systems

NUI provide test and verification services World Wide. Our test engineers has over the last 30 years devolved and improved test procedures for the Diving industry. Many of our test procedures are implemented in Industry standards and guidance.

Among our test services we proved testing and verification of the following: 

  • Dive system onboard Dive Support Vessel (DSV) – or mobile systems
    • Testing of breathing supplies (BIBS, Divers gas)
    • Thermal balance testing (Living chambers/ life boats/bell)
    • Divers hot water, bell battery capacity, bell insulation verification
    • NUI Test Handbook
  • Environmental mapping of dive system and equipment, including:
    •  Ergonomics
    • Light
    • Noise
    • Vibration 
  • Testing of Hyperbaric Self Propelled Lifeboat – IMCA DO2/06
  • Welding trial
    •  Large FV  50 m³ working chamber  that can be used in either a dry or wet configuration
    • Capacity for 16 divers in three living chambers

In-house breathing lab:
NUI facilitates an unique breathing lab (Chamber 9) with capabilities to do test breathing apparatus down to 600 msw. Testing can be performed in gas, fresh water and sea water and can be cooled/heated on request. The chamber is also fitted with an BPR to be able to verify closed circuit(or external exhaust) breathing systems (chamber BIBS or DGRS).

The breathing lab also has ability to perform testing on SCUBA regulators and breathing apparatus for surface use (e.g. Smoke diver)
