09 Mar Extended Diving Awareness Course for DeepOcean
Tuesday to Thursday this week we ran an extended Diving Awareness Course for DeepOcean.
The purpose of this course was to give non-diving personnel involved in planning and performing diving operations, working on-board and onshore, a basic understanding of diving as intervention method.
The course covered diving methods, safety and contingency, rules and regulations, physiology and the pros and cons with diving and ROV operations. In addition to the standard NUI Diving Awareness Course, we had an extra day focusing on responsibilities and airdiving. This included a half day workshop.
During the course the participants had the opportunity to dive with a full recognised offshore diving equipment, a chamber dive and overnight stay in the chamber system.
We had three very good days with interesting discussions, new experiences and very positive feed back.
