We are pleased to announce the recent hiring of Henrik Nicolay Sørgård from 1st of August! Henrik has started with us in a 60% position as project engineer in our testing & analysis department. And from 1st October he will be working full time here at NUI. Henrik is starting in a 60% position because he is currently doing his Ph.D in physical chemistry which will be completed by October. Before Henrik started on his Ph.D he has previously done his master’s degree where the main thesis’ focus was thermodynamic phase equilibrium for methane and carbon dioxide in closed atmospheres.
Henrik has a diversified work experience before and during his studies. His experience varies from serving as medic in Afghanistan during NATO operations to working with industry flooring here in Bergen. The more relevant experience is working at the Institute of Chemistry at University of Bergen’s Magnetic Resonance laboratory as an engineer.
Henrik will primary work in the NUI laboratory together with our chemist Ingrid Røseth, and with him as an extra resource we will continue the development of methods and services offered to our clients. With two chemist in the team we hope to boost the effort in accrediting the laboratory for new methods.
